I personally really like this one (I'm a sucker for clean lines sometimes). It is certainly a huge contrast to the bohemian look of your last layout. My only concern is that the two sides are almost evenly distributed. Now, if that was your intention - more power to you. For me, I prefer that the blog side always be the bigger of the two but then you'd end up having to stretch out the entire layout even more and it's a slippery slope, I understand.
I'm hoping once school is over and devote all the time into the world, I'm going to teach myself dreamweaver (I've been saying this for years) and flash and buy another domain (I had one once). The best and most satisfying thing is to write your own CSS. You can get super nerdy about it - making sure every line of code and subcode is perfectly aligned.
I love that I finally have a real person whom I can talk to about all this stuff. I don't have to apologize for sounding boring and overly geeky. Cause I barely make the cut for geekdom.
